Dr. Phillips is a native of Gilbertown, Alabama. She studied accounting at the University of Southern Mississippi and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry and Master of Business Administration degrees in 2019. She was the first to complete the dual degree program offered by UAB - the first of its kind in the nation, obtaining both the OD and MBA simultaneously. Dr. Phillips went on to complete residency training at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center with a focus on ocular diseases including diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Alabama Optometric Association. She resides in Tuscaloosa.
